Der FT 100 ist der britische Leitindex und beinhaltet die 100 größten britischen Firmen, die in Form einer Aktiengesellschaft an der Börse von London gelistet sind.

Im Jahr 2006 waren folgende 100 Unternehmen im FT 100 oder  in einer anderen Schreibweise auch unter dem Namen FTSE (Financial Times Stock Exchange Index) gelistet:

Wie bereits geschrieben sind in diesem Index die 100 stärksten britischen Werte mit Notierung in der Londoner Börse enthalten. So werden die Unternehmen nach ihrer Marktkapitalisierung geordnet.

Einmal im Jahr findet eine Auswertung der Kapitalisierung statt, sollte der Interne Wert nicht mehr ausreichen, muss das Unternehmen aus dem Index weichen und wird durch ein neues ersetzt.
